    CONDITIONS
No material (such as candies, paper, etc.) may be thrown to the crowd. They must be handed out personally. Offenders will not be invited to return next year. Distribution of literature, canvassing and/or asking for donations is also prohibited. There are additional restrictions and conditions outlined in the Parade Criteria which are equally applicable. These rules were written for the safety of parade participants and spectators due to past experience. They are not negotiable.

    INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
IT IS AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD THAT you (the parade participant) agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend any action against the Community of Lights Events Society, its Directors or Members, and the Spirit of the Sea Festival Production Team, volunteers and staff from and against all liabilities whatsoever arising out of your participation in the Spirit of the Sea Parade. AND FURTHERMORE you shall provide “Evidence of Liability Insurance” in the amount of not less than $2,000,000.00 showing the Community of Lights Events Society, the Spirit of the Sea Committee, the City of White Rock, the City of Surrey and the Spirit of the Sea Festival sponsors, volunteers and staff as additional insured.

Basically, this means that you won’t sue us if you get hurt or your parade entry gets wrecked (or for any other reason) – you are joining the parade at your own risk – and you will have at least $2 million worth of insurance that would cover us (and anyone involved with the Festival) in case someone gets hurt or anything else gets wrecked because something went wrong with your parade entry.
